How FitMatch checks which filter fits

FitMatch answers one question: which replacement filter or part does this exact appliance take. This page explains how each answer is made, so you can judge whether to trust it.

Where a fit comes from

Every model-to-part fit is entered from the manufacturer's own material: its compatibility list, spare-parts page, filter finder, or the manual. The source URL is stored on the row and shown on the model page. We do not copy fitment from other comparison sites.

A fit is marked verified when the manufacturer names the part for that model. It is marked inferred when only a seller or distributor lists the fit, or when the manufacturer names a series rather than the model. Inferred fits show a note asking you to check the code on your old part before buying.

When a manufacturer's site cannot be read, we say so in the notes rather than guess. Parts a retailer sells without a manufacturer part number are left out.

Prices and sellers

Prices are read from each seller's page where the seller publishes a machine-readable price, re-checked daily, and shown with the date they were last checked. The seller's page is the source of truth; if a price has not been re-read recently the date makes that visible.

Some seller links are affiliate links. They never change the price you pay, and they do not change which part we say fits: fitment is decided from the manufacturer's list before any seller is attached.

Photo identification

You can photograph the appliance, its rating label or the old part. A vision model reads the codes and the shape, and its suggestion is checked against the catalogue: it can only point at models we hold, and you confirm the appliance before anything is shown to buy. Nothing the model says is written into the catalogue; new fits go through a review queue.

What we do not do

Who runs it

FitMatch is an independent Australian site, run from Sydney. Corrections are welcome: if a fit on a model page is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the manufacturer's source and fix it.
