Pet fountain filter basics
Genuine or compatible?
Fountain filters are a carbon-and-resin pad or cartridge that keeps the water clear and takes out hair and taste. Catit, PetKit, PetSafe and Petlibro sell genuine packs; compatible packs are cheap and mostly fine, but the shape has to match the fountain's slot exactly or water bypasses the filter.
Where the model number is
The fountain's name is printed on the base or the underside label (PIXI, Flower Fountain, EverSweet 3, Drinkwell 360, Dockstream). The filter type is printed on the old filter's packaging.
Why change it on time
Makers quote two to four weeks. Past that the pad is a biofilm sponge, the pump works harder, and the water the fountain was bought to keep fresh is not. Wash the fountain when you change the filter.
How this list is built
Every fit comes from the manufacturer's own compatibility list or parts page, with the source recorded on each row. Where only a seller lists a fit, the page says “listed by sellers, not yet confirmed”. Prices are re-read from each seller's page daily where they publish one, and dated.
