Water filter jug filter cartridge basics
Genuine or compatible?
Jug cartridges are shaped to the jug's funnel: BRITA's MAXTRA+ fits every current BRITA jug, Philips's AWP cartridges fit its jugs and bottles. Compatible MAXTRA-style cartridges are sold widely; a cartridge that does not seat fully lets water bypass, so check the fit and the litres-per-cartridge rating.
Where the model number is
The jug's name is moulded into the lid or base (Marella, Style, Aluna, Flow; Philips AWP2953). The cartridge type is printed on the old cartridge and its box.
Why change it on time
Four weeks or about 150 litres for a jug cartridge. After that the carbon stops reducing chlorine and the ion-exchange resin stops softening, and the jug simply passes tap water through slowly. Most lids have a four-week reminder dial or light.
How this list is built
Every fit comes from the manufacturer's own compatibility list or parts page, with the source recorded on each row. Where only a seller lists a fit, the page says “listed by sellers, not yet confirmed”. Prices are re-read from each seller's page daily where they publish one, and dated. How FitMatch checks fitment.
