The 862285 (previously 836848) is Fisher & Paykel's internal cartridge for older freestanding ice and water fridges such as the E522, E402, E442, RF522 and RF540, and for ActiveSmart integrated models where it sits behind the toe-kick grille. F&P recommends a new filter every six months, followed by flushing and a four-second button hold to reset the indicator.

- 2Twist the old cartridge out of its head fitting — no need to turn the water off; the head valve seals automatically.
- 3Twist the new cartridge in until it seats firmly.
