The Samsung HAF-QIN/EXP (cartridge DA97-17376B) is the internal water filter fitted to Samsung French door and side-by-side fridges from about 2018. Samsung rates it at 300 gallons (about 1,135 litres) and it carries NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certification. It locks in with a 90-degree turn and Samsung recommends changing it every six months.

How long it lasts
Replace every 6 months — the appliance's filter light tells you when.
After fitting: Samsung AU support: hold Filter Reset for 3 seconds on models with the button; on touch-panel models tap any button to wake the display, tap the circle icon until the Water Filter indicator blinks, then choose Reset with the arrow buttons.
Flow slows and taste drops off as the filter fills up. Changing on time is the whole point of the filter.

Fitting it
A few minutes, no tools. Watch it done, then follow the steps.
- 1Find the filter housing inside the fridge compartment (bottom left drawer area on most models).
- 2Turn the old filter about a quarter turn anti-clockwise and pull it straight out. A little water dripping is normal — keep a cloth handy.
- 3Remove the new filter's protective cap, push it into the housing and turn clockwise until it clicks into place.
- 4Run 2–3 litres of water through the dispenser to flush carbon fines and air, then hold the filter reset button until the indicator resets.
